Antique Victorian Mahogany Armoire

$2,550.00

Armoires like this were the centerpiece of a bedroom before closets became standard. Made in England in the late Victorian era, likely pre-1900, this example combines both presence and practicality. The left door holds its original beveled mirror, which remains in exceptional condition. The mirror’s back retains its original orange wash, a detail often found on 19th century English glass, and a further hint to its age.

Inside, the hanging space includes a set of hooks along with a rotating center hook, while below are three drawers topped by a paneled door and a full-length lower drawer. The brass hardware and paneled details reflect the quality and craftsmanship of the time.

We have preserved the existing finish, which shows character consistent with its age, while ensuring the piece is fully structural and functional. The drawers operate smoothly, the doors close properly, and the wardrobe is solid and ready for daily use.

In its own time, this would have been a defining piece in a bedroom, both as storage and as a statement of refinement. Today, it serves just as well as a versatile character piece that would add warmth and presence to a bright space as is common in today's homes.
