That effort shows even now, nearly 170 years later. The frame remains strong and sound, the seat firm and comfortable. The upholstery has aged gracefully with fading but no rips or punctures, still very usable as it is. At the base, four solid brass casters with delicate beadwork edging carry a beautiful patina, proof that even the smallest details were crafted to impress.
