Dating to around 1830, this is an excellent example of an American Sheraton chest of drawers, featuring beautifully figured mahogany, spiral turned columns, four full width drawers, and traditional Sheraton turned legs.
The mahogany veneer was carefully selected and arranged across the drawer fronts to highlight the dramatic grain patterns, while the carved columns and shaped lower apron give the chest its distinctive early 19th century form.
At nearly 200 years old, it remains in good, functional condition with age and wear consistent with its history. A beautiful example of early 19th century American furniture that remains just as useful in the home today.
