18th Century Queen Anne Gateleg Table

from $1,850.00

Dating to the first half of the 18th century, this English Queen Anne gateleg table is constructed f mahogany and remains an excellent example of adaptable furniture from the period. Its two drop leaves allow it to stand compactly against a wall when closed or open into a full oval table when additional surface space is needed using gateleg extensions.

The frame incorporates pegged joinery, knuckle jointed gate supports, iron hinges, and unfinished surfaces that retain the tool marks and oxidation developed over nearly three centuries. The tapered turned legs with pad feet are an authentic example of Queen Anne design, a style that continued into the early Georgian period.

The table retains its original finish with wear consistent with its history and remains structurally sound. Its adaptable form allows it to serve in versatile settings.
