Dating to approximately 1720 to 1730, this English George I chest of drawers was made during the early Georgian period, when walnut remained one of the most desirable woods in English cabinetmaking. Its construction reflects the continued Anglo Dutch influence of the preceding Queen Anne period, shortly before mahogany became the dominant choice for fine English furniture.
Structurally sound and fully functional, this chest is presented in original antique condition with age related cracking, veneer wear, surface marks, and old repairs consistent with nearly 300 years of use.
